LMU this Week

ATHLETICS | Senior cross-country runner Danielle Shanahan took first place at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento on Sept. 30, finishing the women’s 6K race with a time of 20:32.2 and leading the Lion women to a third-place overall finish.

Shanahan, an All-American, has been the women’s overall winner in two of her three outings on the course in her final season. She also led the LMU women’s team to a second-place finish on Sept. 2, at the Mark Covert Invitational in Fullerton, California, topping the chart with a time of 17:56.3, nearly 15 seconds faster than the second-place runner, in the women’s 5,000-meter run.

The Lions return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 14, when the teams race in the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, California.
