Basketball Season Around the Corner

ATHLETICS | Loyola Marymount University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams each spent a day at Orleans Arena in Nevada, the site of the 2017-18 West Coast Conference Championships, to participate in the conference’s annual WCC Hoops Tip-Off. Unlike prior years, the conference moved this year’s event to the Las Vegas area, as part of the 10-year anniversary of the league tournament being played in that city.

On the men’s side, guard/forward Steven Haney Jr. and Head Coach Mike Dunlap spoke with reporters, filmed video segments, and were photographed throughout the day in anticipation of the upcoming season. Head Coach Charity Elliott and guard Gabby Green did the same for the women.

With their media obligations completed, focus now shifts to Thursday’s MADNESS at Gersten Pavilion and the season openers. MADNESS, tipping off at 8 p.m., is free for all to attend, and tickets for the season can be purchased here.

His 204 is one-stroke off the LMU all-time 54-hole low and he becomes the 25th golfer in program history to earn a first-place tournament finish.

The LMU cross-country team is scheduled this month to compete for the West Coast Conference Championship on Oct. 27, and men’s tennis and women’s tennis will compete in the ITA Regions from Oct. 19-23. The baseball team just released their spring schedule.
