Community Night at Gersten Leads Holiday Schedule

ATHLETICS | Basketball is back on campus this week with an added game. The women’s team game from last week in Santa Barbara was rescheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. against the Gauchos. This will be the last opportunity to see the team before they return to open WCC play on Dec. 28 against St. Mary’s and Dec. 30 against Pacific. The men’s team is coming back from their weekend in Seattle and hosting their Community Night this Friday. Bring your friends and family for $1 admission and $1 hot dogs, as well as free LMU holiday ornaments for the first 500 fans.

Calling all babies! LMU Athletics is hosting the first-ever Diaper Derby during halftime at two upcoming games. At the Dec. 28 women’s basketball game and the Jan. 4 men’s basketball game crawling babies will have the opportunity to race across the court for the grand prize of dinner for two for their parents or guardians and LMU baby gear for themselves. Both games will begin at 7 p.m., and tickets will be provided for the participating baby and two parents or guardians. To sign-up or learn more information please contact Holly Cisneros, assistant director of marketing, at Holly.Cisneros@lmu.edu.

New holiday emojis are here! Enhance any text conversion with a little Iggy or your favorite athletics gif. This is the perfect way to show your Lion Pride!

Also, tickets for the men’s basketball game against Gonzaga are selling quickly. Be a part of the excitement as the national runner-up Bulldogs come to Gersten Pavilion on Jan. 6. Don’t miss the halftime performance with spectacular trampoline stunts and breathtaking slam dunks from the TNT Dunk Squad.

Finally, Burns Aquatics Center played host to a high-level international water polo match this weekend. The two nations battled it out at our pool on Sunday as part of the Summer Exhibition Series. Team USA is coming off a stellar summer where they won their second straight FINA World Championship and fourth straight FINA World League Super Final title. In 2016, the USA Women won their second straight Olympic title.
