Faculty/Staff Retreat Offers ‘Practical Ignatian Themes’

MISSION AND MINISTRY | A “real” retreat? How often do you receive an invitation to have a private room in a beautiful setting, fine meals, and time to reflect on what is truly important in life? And at no cost?

The annual Faculty/Staff Retreat, sponsored by the Center for Ignatian Spirituality, invites LMU faculty and staff members for a weekend – Friday evening, Feb. 2, 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, Feb. 4, 12:30 p.m. – at the Mary and Joseph Center at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The theme is “Practical Ignatian Themes for Our Lives and Work” led by Randy Roche, S.J. and staff member Ann Cortez.

The primary feature of the retreat is personal time for reflection, with supporting presentations on Ignatian perspectives and participants sharing their insights.

From one who has had the experience: “I really appreciated the simple themes, and how they were so relevant to my daily life and experiences. The weekend was full but not ‘busy.’ I felt a nice flow of the whole retreat and thought the sessions were well spread out and had a good amount of time for each of the parts. I never felt like we were on a session too long, nor did I feel rushed or felt that someone didn’t have a chance to share.”
