Provost Office Hour

ACADEMICSTom Poon, executive vice president and provost, is waiting to hear from you.

Got a compliment? The provost wants to hear it.

Got a gripe? He wants to hear that, too.

“Office hours were very effective last semester for meeting a wide array of folks from the LMU Community,” Poon said. “I learned a great deal about LMU and appreciate the effort made by those who attended.”

The Provost Office Hour is every Friday (except in the case of travel or event conflicts), from 1 to 2 p.m. and is open to faculty, staff and students. Office hours are limited to one 15-minute session per month per person. The sign-up period runs from Wednesdays at 10 a.m. to Thursdays at 5 p.m. for that week’s Friday office hours. An appointment for the Provost Office Hour can be made on the provost’s sign-up page. As a reminder, when signing up, if you see “0 remaining” next to the time slot you would like to choose, that means that particular slot is no longer available.

It is advised that anyone interested in meeting with the provost check back weekly as his calendar can change and some travel and commitments may conflict.

“This is an great way for me to stay in touch with what’s happening across the campus,” Poon said. He added that this open approach will help him get to know LMU through the eyes of the people most affected by his decisions.
