PCH Cup Showdown Set for Wednesday at LMU Tennis Center

ATHLETICS | The men’s tennis team recorded its seventh-consecutive victory Sunday afternoon, with a 4-1 victory over the University of South Florida (6-10) at the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Challenge in Indian Wells, California. The No. 43-ranked men’s tennis (10-2) hosts Yale on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and then looks to beat Pepperdine at home for first time on Saturday. That match will begin at 1 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Center with free admission free, music and free pizza on the for fans!

Over the course of two days this past weekend, Burns Aquatics Center hosted eight women’s water polo teams and 16 games for the 17th Annual LMU Invitational. Against the competitive field, Loyola Marymount (12-13) went 1-3 for the tournament. LMU’s win came against No. 22 Harvard, with the Lions taking the game, 10-5.

Come support your fellow Lions by cheering on our men’s and women’s rowing teams as they take on rowers from around the world at the 45th Annual San Diego Crew Classic. Sunday’s races are determined by the progression out of Saturday’s heats.

Baseball returns home to host Long Beach State today at 6 p.m. for Faculty and Staff Night. The Lions will continue WCC play this weekend, welcoming Pepperdine to Page Stadium for three games starting on Friday at 6 p.m. LMU still has 17 home games remaining and the new ticket plans start at $50 for a General Admission season ticket, while Reserved season tickets can be purchased for $99. Members of LMU’s Little Lions Club also get into all LMU home baseball games as part of the membership, while students, faculty and staff with a valid One Card also receive free General Admission access to every home game.

Starting this season, all Sunday conference baseball games will feature free beer for all LMU students, faculty and staff. An extension of the successful basketball campaign, those 21 and older with a valid one card will be able to enjoy a beer while cheering on the Lions at the remaining Sunday home WCC games.
