Companions in Mission: An Invitation to Apply

MISSION AND MINISTRY |

Dear Colleagues,

Applications are now being accepted for Companions in Mission, Cohort 7.

This popular program was launched six years ago by the Office of Mission and Ministry and has helped more than 100 participants gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of LMU’s Ignatian heritage. If you are among those the program is designed to serve — mid-level faculty, administrators and exempt staff — I hope you will consider applying for one of the 25 spots available for 2018-19.

The program is spread throughout the academic year and includes, as its main components: a half-day of reflection in September; four luncheon-lectures in the fall; a weekend Ignatian retreat in Rancho Palos Verdes in February; a service project of one’s choosing in the spring; and a concluding luncheon at which participants share insights regarding Ignatian approaches to their personal and professional lives. For background reading over the summer, those accepted for the program will receive a copy of “A Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything,” by Jim Martin, S.J.

If you would like more information about Companions in Mission, feel free to call the Mission and Ministry Office at ext. 82987 or email Nick Islas at nislas@lmu.edu.

Meanwhile, you can find the program website and application form here. If you decide to apply, simply print the application form, fill it out, obtain the approval/signature of your department chair or supervisor, and send the form to my office in the President’s Suite (UH-4844) by Wednesday, April 25.

I hope to hear from you!
