Feed the Hungry with Campus Ministry Every Tuesday

For nearly 20 years, students, faculty and staff members have volunteered their lunch hour to make and deliver sandwiches to our homeless neighbors at the Annenberg Access Center, formerly Ocean Park Community Center, in Santa Monica.

Make lunches: 11:30 a.m. – noon
Deliver lunches: noon – 1:30 p.m.

Every Tuesday, we gather in front of Sacred Heart Chapel to make and pack lunches. Then, at noon, members of the LMU community drive to Santa Monica to share lunches and enter into friendship with the homeless and hungry. Our Feed the Hungry program strives to be a practical way for students and the greater LMU community to engage in direct service, come to know a concrete social justice issue, and deepen an understanding and commitment to our faith.

During the summer, while many students are away, Campus Ministry relies on staff and faculty to help this program continue. If you would like to join us, please feel free to sign up in advance through our online sign-up or by simply showing up. Also, entire departments can join in the effort to help Feed the Hungry in this meaningful and impactful manner.
