Remembering Our Deceased Loved Ones

Rev. Allan Figueroa Deck, S.J.

MISSION AND MINISTRY | Every November the Church remembers our deceased loved ones. The Jesuit Community at Loyola Marymount University invites the greater LMU family – students, faculty, administrators, staff, and facilities workers – to join with them in prayer for all those who have gone before us, and for their families who continue to mourn the loss of parents, grandparents, family, colleagues and friends.

The Christian Scriptures and the faith of God’s people witness to the reality of the Communion of Saints. Accordingly, we all live in relationship, we are connected across time, first of all to a loving God, but secondly to all those who have come before us and make up our immediate families as well as the entire family of God past and present on Earth.

During the month of November, the Jesuit fathers will remember LMU’s deceased loved ones in their prayers and Masses in the Jesuit Community Chapel and in Sacred Heart, Leavey, Huesman, Marymount Institute and Loyola Law School chapels where the Eucharist is frequently celebrated. We invite you to name your loved ones to be included in a list for remembrance at these times of special prayer. To submit the names of your loved ones please click here.

Sincerely,
Rev. Allan Figueroa Deck, S.J.
