Provost Enlivens Facebook Live

ACADEMICS | LMU hosted its first-ever Facebook Live Q&A, inviting community members on Aug. 30, 2017, to engage with Thomas Poon, Ph.D., executive vice president and provost. For more than 25 minutes, Provost Poon answered a slew of questions submitted in the Facebook comments section, ranging from his gravitating to Jesuit higher education, to explaining the role of a provost, to offering advice for first-generation college students (as he was). Poon closed the session on a light-hearted note, breaking out his ukulele for a live rendition of his song “What I’ve Learned About LMU (So Far),” which he previously performed in front of several campus groups. The Q&A video, which has more than 2,300 views to date, can be watched below or by clicking here.

This foray into live social media streaming came on the heels of an LMU Marketing and Communications-produced video introducing Lions to Provost Poon, titled “In Tom’s Shoes.”
