Staff Spotlight – Jill Cornelio ’04

What’s your role at the university?

Administrative Specialist at the William H. Hannon Library

How long have you been at LMU?
13 years (technically 17 if you count my student worker days)

What has been your proudest moment since you’ve been at LMU?
I can’t pinpoint a specific moment (and my proudest moments aren’t even specifically about me), but every time the librarians and staff of the William H. Hannon Library host events, create programming, attend conferences, win awards, and even salvage books from leaks, I’m always like “AHH! THE LIBRARY IS SO AWESOME!!!! WE ARE THE COOLEST!”

Favorite movie?
10 Things I Hate About You

What was the name of the last book your read?
The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember

If you were stuck on an island, name three items you would want to bring.
Well, that depends. How long will I be on this island? Is there electricity? Is there wi-fi? Are there cocktails?

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Korean BBQ

If you could enjoy dinner and conversation with anyone in history, who would it be and why?
I would love to have dinner with my grandmother Beatriz. She lived in the Philippines and passed away recently. We haven’t seen each other in 20 years and I would absolutely love to talk to her one last time.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that others may not know.
