LMU Alumni Offer Words of Wisdom at Silicon Beach Networking Event

Two Silicon Beach executives and fellow LMU graduates reflected on their college lives and shared career advice with students and alumni at a recent Playa Vista networking event. The gathering at the Centerpointe Club featured a wide-ranging conversation with LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D.; Claudine Cazian Britz, ’00, head of entertainment partnerships for Instagram; and Sean Kane, ’99, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Honest Co. LMU’s Eric Strauss Discusses Human-Animal Interactions at PetSpace in Playa Vista

“Do dogs actually love us, or are we just the smell that brings them food?” A member of the audience raised that question to Eric Strauss, President’s Professor of Biology at LMU, at a recent Wallis Annenberg PetSpace event in Playa Vista. The center facilitates animal adoptions and offers classes, educational programs and lectures designed to deepen the bonds among humans and their pets. The event, “Everything (We Wish We Knew) About Dogs and People,” allowed Strauss to share his expertise on human-animal interactions. Read more.

 

Join the Playa Vista Campus Design Contest

Do you want to leave your mark on LMU’s new Playa Vista Campus? The university invites all students, faculty, staff and alumni to submit artwork ideas for the campus’ elevator lobby design contest. The winning design, which will earn the winner a $1,000 Visa gift card, will adorn the open space that greets visitors on the second floor of LMU’s new 50,000-square-foot campus in the Brickyard. It is slated to open in fall 2018 and will provide space for School of Film and Television graduate programs and other university initiatives. Read more.
