Urban Ecology and Care for Creation

MISSION AND MINISTRY | An amazing lunchtime field trip is available to the LMU community: Discovery Park, a two-acre oasis right below the bluff in Playa Vista. This place of nature in the midst of human compact living space is revealed as not just possible but necessary for those who visit the site with the expert guidance of President’s Professor Eric Strauss, executive director of the Center for Urban Resilience, and Lisa Fimiani, program director of CURes.

What:
A Tour of Ballona Discovery Park
When: Friday, April 20, noon to 2 p.m., (lunch included)

The vital subjects of water and how it moves through our urban environment; and ancient and modern human interactions with this part of the world are among the interesting aspects of this tour.
