Here’s the Way to LMU’s Playa Vista Campus

UNIVERSITY NEWS | The lights are on and we’re almost ready to start moving into the LMU Playa Vista Campus.

Starting June 1, a free shuttle service will begin running between LMU’s Westchester campus and the nearby new campus at 12105 W. Waterfront Drive in Playa Vista. The 50,000 square foot space on the second floor of the east building of the Brickyard complex will house the graduate programs in the School of Film and Television, along with creative interdisciplinary programming. The space will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, with additional hours during peak times in the academic calendar.

The shuttle will be open to all students, faculty and staff members, and anyone outside the LMU community who wants to ride. The route will include stops on the Westchester campus (University Hall flagpoles and Lawton Plaza), the LMU Playa Vista Campus, and the Runway in Playa Vista, home to a variety of restaurants and retail stores. The shuttle also offers a convenient way to get to the Playa Vista area for lunch.

From June 1 – August 24 the shuttle will run adjusted summer hours (M-F, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.). Starting Monday, August 27 the shuttle service will operate M-F from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The intervals will be every 30 minutes from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.; every 15 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and every 30 minutes from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. The shuttle will run Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Please visit the LMU Shuttle webpage for the most updated information.

Other than taking the shuttle, visitors also have the option of parking their vehicles near the Playa Vista Campus. There is currently some street parking on Waterfront Drive, however parking is first come, first served and will likely be limited at peak times. Paid parking is also available at the Brickyard building where LMU’s space is located and is subject to posted rates.
