Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Enrollment Named

ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT | Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that Ammar Dalal has been appointed to the position of assistant vice provost for graduate enrollment, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

He comes to LMU from Santa Clara University, where he has been assistant dean of enrollment management and marketing and director of admission and financial aid for the Graduate School of Education and Counseling Psychology since 2016.

Assistant Vice Provost Dalal brings strategic leadership, enthusiasm and expertise to graduate enrollment management at LMU. He has served in various leadership capacities in marketing, recruitment, admissions and financial aid for more than 12 years at Santa Clara University, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and Harrison College. While at Harrison College, he was named to the inaugural Diversity Committee to promote a culture of inclusiveness and to effectively address the evolving needs of its diverse student body. At Santa Clara University, Assistant Vice Provost Dalal was part of the original team that helped launched information management system Slate; embarking on a year-long process to move to a sophisticated on-line application and prospect management tool. For this work, he was recognized by then Provost Dennis Jacobs for his efforts to bring Santa Clara into the 21st century of admissions in record time.

As a key member of LMU’s Enrollment Management team, he will collaborate with the graduate program directors in the academic units to successfully identify, recruit, enroll, and orient graduate students. As the assistant vice provost, he will develop strategic messaging that emphasizes the value of an LMU graduate education for a diverse global audience; collaborate with the director of international admission and outreach to expand international graduate enrollment; and facilitate local and national advertising via multiple platforms to attract and retain interest to LMU’s diverse graduate programs.

Assistant Vice Provost Dalal earned his MBA and B.S. in economics from the University of Indianapolis, Indiana, and is an Ed.D. candidate at USC. He and his wife, Aleya, have a 2-year old daughter and a new baby arriving this September.

Please join me in welcoming Ammar to LMU and showing our support to his key role in our institution. Also, I would like to extend my appreciation to Associate Provost of Career and Professional Development Branden Grimmett for his leadership and the search committee for their diligent effort during the interview and selection process.

Sincerely,

Maureen P. Weatherall
