Team of Lion Alums Wins Hermosa Beach Volleyball Open

ATHLETICS | Emily Day ’09 and Betsi Flint ’13, M.A. ’15, took home the title this weekend at the AVP Hermosa Beach Open. The Lion alums entered the tournament as the top-ranked women’s team and swept their way in straight sets to the pair’s fourth team title in 10 AVP tour events. The LMU pair did not drop a set over the weekend.

The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recognized both the LMU men’s and women’s track and field teams with All-Academic Honors. The men’s team earned the honor with a 3.38 GPA and the women’s team with a 3.41 GPA.

Curtis will run the offense, while Asaro will serve as the recruiting coordinator. Additionally, both coaches will work with hitters.
