Flaherty Keynotes Pastoral Musicians Conference

MISSION AND MINISTRY | John Flaherty, LMU’s associate director of campus ministry and director of liturgy and music, had the distinguished honor to deliver the keynote address in July at the National Association of Pastoral Musicians conference in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Flaherty, a longtime member of the association and a pioneer in liturgical music in the U.S., presented on the topic “Source and Summit: How the Commitment to Liturgical Renewal Can Offer Healing and Reconciliation” at the 42nd national conference. The association’s mission is to foster the art of musical liturgy. The association enjoys a diverse membership that serves the Catholic Church in the United States as musicians, clergy, liturgists, and other leaders of prayer.

A person blessed with many gifts, Flaherty returned to the conductor’s platform to direct the LMU Campus Ministry Student, Faculty and Alumni Ensemble at Friday’s First Year Academic Convocation and Welcome in Gersten Pavilion.
