Women’s History Month Focuses on Voting Rights

UNIVERSITY NEWS | Fitting to this election year, the theme for Women’s History Month in 2020 celebrates “Valiant Women of the Vote,” those who fought for each woman’s right to vote in the United States.  The LMU community and HR are grateful for their work and look forward to a month of learning our fuller history.

During March, in recognition of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, LMU honors women from the original suffrage movement as well as 20th and 21st century women who have continued the struggle – fighting against poll taxes, literacy tests, voter roll purges, and other more contemporary forms of voter suppression – to promise voting rights for all.
