Trish Carlson Presented the Bonney Staff Award

UNIVERSITY NEWS | The Staff Senate presented Trish Carlson, senior director of Campus Services, with the Barbara Bonney Staff Award at the annual Staff Service Awards Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020.

Carlson received multiple nominations and was praised by her teammates and colleagues for her accomplishments and leadership, including her collaborative approach to problem-solving, care and respect for all persons, grace and positivity under pressure, and her mentorship and attention to students and staff on her teams and across campus. She was also recognized for her pivotal role in coordinating LMU’s hosting of the DNC Debate in December 2019.

“Trish embodies the spirit of a Lion,” said Michael Wong, vice president for campus operations. “As an alum and a longtime staff member, she lives a fierce sense of pride and ownership of LMU. She is creative problem-solver and strives to find a way to a ‘yes’ to the most challenging of requests. . . . Trish is a model of our values of loyalty, service, and compassion. She brings these attributes to all that she does on campus and in all of her relationships.”

The Barbara Bonney Award is presented annually by the Staff Senate to a staff member who has shown continued excellence in their professional area, commitment to the ideals of higher education, leadership and initiative within their area or the university as a whole, unique contribution to improving the quality of life at LMU, and public service to the LMU community. Nominees and recipients of the Barbara Bonney Award are those whose are recognized across campus for their professional accomplishments, and for exemplifying LMU’s mission in all they do.

The Staff Senate recognizes Carlson’s accomplishments and contributions to LMU by honoring her with the Barbara Bonney award.
