A Message from the Dean of Students on Recent Title IX Change

Dear LMU Students:

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education announced significant changes to Title IX regulations that govern how sexual assault and harassment accusations are handled on college campuses. As we review these new regulations and make adjustments to LMU policies and procedures this summer, we will seek input and advice from student leaders. Our commitment to our students is unchanged: We remain dedicated to combating sexual or interpersonal misconduct, violence, harassment, and all other violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

Maintaining a community where everyone can work, live, and learn in an environment free of all forms of sex discrimination, including sexual violence and harassment, remains among our top priorities. The university provides resources and services available to support and assist you:

At LMU, we pledge to live the Lion’s Code by embodying the traits of a lion — honorable, courageous, proud, wise, bold — in caring for our peers and committing to our own personal growth. Lions respect peers, professionals, professors, and students. Lions own the actions of their mind, hand, and heart. Our Lion community always fosters an environment of respect, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Sincerely,

Terri L. Mangione, Ph.D.
Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs
