LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Network Seeks New Members

Dear LMU Faculty and Staff,

We hope this email finds you well during this unprecedented global health crisis and vital time of social and political change. The LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Network continues to grow, as we stand behind the All Black Lives Matters movement, and look for ways to support organizations, on and off campus, to address anti-Black attitudes, especially within the queer community. We the LGBTQ+ community are well aware of the ills of hate and discrimination – and with the memory of Black and brown transgender women leading the Stonewall Riots, we know that no one is free until we are all free.

We are attempting to shift into a less-hierarchical leadership structure to become an organization by and for its members. Therefore, we are replacing traditional titles and roles for more egalitarian ones. This year the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Network is comprised of three council members who have taken on the responsibly of shaping the infrastructure of the network:

Staff Co-lead: Mimi Hoang, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
Staff Psychologist, Student Psychological Services

Faculty Co-lead: Anthony Bodlovi?, Ph.D., LMFT, ATR-BC (he/him/his)
Program Director and Assistant Professor, Marital and Family Therapy/Art Therapy

LGBTSS Liaison: Lalo Moreno, M.A. (they/them/theirs)
Director of LGBT Student Services and Intercultural Initiatives

We are looking for other members to be on the council to structure the network further and create roles to better meet our mission of education, activism, and fellowship. We want to finalize our bylaws and to regularly coordinate events throughout the year focused on professional development, political activism, and community connection. We want to create a council of faculty and staff with diverse genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, religions, abilities, ages, and backgrounds.

If you are interested in hearing more or being part of the council, please consider attending our first open meeting:

Friday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m.
Via Zoom

Meeting ID: 952 6424 0327

If you’d like to be added to the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff list-serve, please email
