Reminder: Final Week to Nominate Your Students to be an LMU Public Safety Student Ambassador

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY | Do you know an outstanding student whose voice should be amplified within the LMU community? Members of the LMU Public Safety Student Ambassador program help shape community engagement and governance, and faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate exceptional students in their area! Applications are open until this Friday, October 2.

Now in its second year, the Student Ambassador program was founded to grow community relations and engagement between Public Safety officers and the students they serve, fostering dialogue and understanding between the groups as they help inform and shape the role of Public Safety in the LMU community.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in activities throughout the academic year, including monthly sessions with Public Safety leadership and staff. Ambassadors will also have the ability to define what the program means for them, brainstorming and structuring thoughtful activations for the issues they deem most important to the LMU community. Ambassador experience will particularly help students develop skill sets surrounding public policy and governance, marketing and communications, and public relations and events.

Public Safety encourages nominations for students supporting a diverse representation of student life and campus organizations. The greater campus and the Student Ambassador program will benefit from the varied involvement, skill sets, and life experiences that its members will bring to the association; last year’s ambassadors hailed from ASLMU, Athletics, Greek life, Residence Advisor positions, LGBT Student Services, and more.

Please submit your Student Ambassador nominations here, and share why you believe you would make an exceptional addition to the program. Applications are open until Friday, Oct. 2, at which time they will be reviewed, and final candidates selected.

For any questions about the program or the application process, please contact Devra Schwartz, vice president of campus safety and security, at devra.schwartz@lmu.edu
