As the grassroots level of Los Angeles City government, Neighborhood Councils connect the communities they serve to City Hall. The Westchester-Playa Neighborhood Council election is currently under way. Participation is open to those who live, work, or own property or a business within the council’s boundaries, as well as to “community interest stakeholders,” such as local students. This means LMU employees and students are eligible to vote in the Westchester-Playa Neighborhood Council election.
