LMU Students Invited to Compete in New “College Bowl” Show

UNIVERSITY NEWS | Do you know any LMU students who are trivia fans, and would want to compete on the reboot of the popular television quiz show “College Bowl”?

LMU Lions have an opportunity to represent their university and compete nationally on the show that will air on NBC primetime, going head-to-head with opposing teams to win scholarship dollars and bragging rights.

Students interested in competing on the show, which will be hosted by former NFL great Peyton Manning, can apply here. Completed applications are due by Dec. 4, and specifications for video submissions can be found here.

“College Bowl” first aired on radio stations in the 1950s before appearing for four years on CBS, and from 1963-70 on NBC. The “College Bowl” reboot, from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Village Roadshow, was announced on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Read the Variety article here.

“We’re excited to bring this beloved college game show back to primetime with a fresh new spin that is sure to not only entertain but also inspire,” said Jenny Groom, executive vice president of unscripted content at NBCUniversal. “Peyton’s love for competition, sport and education makes him the perfect host and partner. It will be so much fun to showcase these college rivalries and, more important, the incredibly smart and talented students behind them.”

Safety protocols, including COVID testing requirements, will be followed for those students who are selected to compete and film in person at Sony Pictures Studios.
