Dining Services Adjusts to Conditions to Offer a Full Menu

LMU DINING SERVICES | As students, faculty, and staff return to campus, LMU Dining Services is making every effort to offer the best possible dining experience, despite lingering market disruptions impacting producers, manufacturers, and distributors due to the pandemic.

While Dining Services may be unable to guarantee delivery of some items on a regular basis, the food service chefs have been adjusting menus and operations to meet the needs of students and the LMU community while balancing the precarious distribution system, workforce, and product availability.

Experts working behind the scenes are identifying shortages in the food production and distribution systems ahead of time to allow our local chefs to make menu adjustments. The Dining Services catering team is customizing menus and services to deliver a high-quality product that meets expectations, given product availability. Dining Services will continue to work on alternative items to offer the best experience possible until the supply chain catches up.

Additionally, Dining Services will continue to recruit new team members, even in a difficult labor market. Dining Services offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, as well as bonuses for coming on board and continuing to work on campus each semester. Team members receive referral bonuses. Dining Services has partnered with local culinary schools and job placement programs to attract new employees, and coordinated mailings to all households in local zip codes to recruit new staff.

Dining Services appreciates the patience and understanding of the LMU community in an ever-changing environment, and welcomes feedback, comments, and suggestions for the fall 2021 semester.
