User Enhancements Coming to Workday

PROPEL LMU | On Sept. 11, 2021, a series of minor changes will be implemented in LMU Workday, as part of the platform’s global software upgrades. These upgrades are part of Workday’s regularly scheduled, twice yearly system enhancements that increase functionality and enhance the user experience.

While most of the changes will only be noticeable on the back end, and not to the user, below are some of the updates you may notice when you log in to Workday starting Sept. 11:

  • New central location for Workday search field: the search bar, which is currently found in the top left of the screen, will move to the center for greater ease of use;
  • Enhanced search functionality: when using the search bar, two new “pre-search” filter buttons can help further narrow down search results, to find what you’re looking for;
  • Report and Task Pages are now pop-up windows: when running a report or initiating a singular task (such as completing an I-9 form, adding an additional job, etc.), Workday will open a pop-up window rather than redirecting you to a static landing page to complete the process. Please note, this is simply a cosmetic change; you can still use report prompts to filter results as desired.

All Lions are encouraged to continue to familiarize themselves with the Workday platform, including the search bar feature – simply begin typing in the key words related to the topic you seek help on, and Workday will auto-populate a series of reference guides and step-by-step instructions, such as to help you update your tax withholding, request time off, submit an expense report, and more.

Recordings of various training sessions are available to watch on the Workday Training page. And if you still need assistance, you may submit a help ticket via Workday ServiceNow.
