Pet Supply Donation Drive

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY | June is National Pet Preparedness Month, and in an effort to raise awareness and be a good “fur-iend” to our four-footed neighbors, LMU Public Safety is hosting a pet supply drive to benefit the Michelson Found Animals Foundation.

From June 1 – 27, DPS will be collecting new pet supplies for cats and dogs, with two convenient drop-off locations at University Hall 2800 (lower campus) or DPS Foley Annex (upper campus). A full donation wish list can be found here.

The Michelson Found Animals Foundation was founded in 2005, with the goal of improving the lives of companion animals around greater Los Angeles. Originally run from Dr. Gary Michelson’s kitchen table, the nonprofit’s first grants supported microchipping at local shelters, and soon expanded to support subsidized spay and neuter services to low-income families.  In its first 10 years, Michelson raised over $3.2M in spay and neuter grants, and helped 20,000 animals find loving homes. Today, the Michelson Found Animals Foundation has a team of 70 staff and nearly 600 volunteers supporting their adoption, foster care, microchip, and spay and neuter initiatives.

For questions about the supply drive, please contact Allie Bright, Director of Emergency Management. LMU Public Safety humbly thanks you for your support of our local animal shelter!
