Provost’s Office Hour Concludes on Friday, May 21

ACADEMICS | Provost Thomas Poon will hold his last office hour for students, faculty and staff on Friday, May 21. The Provost’s Office Hour, which he initiated in fall 2017, is comprised of four 15-minute one-on-one slots for a discussion opportunity between the provost and students, faculty and staff, will convene on Fridays (except in the case of calendar conflicts), from 10-11 a.m. “Through office hours, I’ve been able to learn about important matters before they become major issues, share concerns with the appropriate members of my team, and meet the great people that make up our LMU community.” Poon added that this open approach has helped him get to know the roles and responsibilities of the individuals who come to meet with him who make LMU so great.

The provost’s newly updated website will have new interactive features like a poll, “Latest Updates”, a Faculty Hub, and minutes from the Academic Affairs Implementation Group. As a member of the LMU community you are also able to access the provost’s sign-up page for Office Hours. The sign-up period begins on the Tuesday the week of office hours and it will close on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. It is advised that anyone interested in meeting with the provost check back weekly as his calendar can change and commitments may conflict.

“My sincere thanks to all who have utilized my office hours so far,” Poon said.
