LMU’s 16-game West Coast Conference men’s basketball team schedule has been released by the league. The Lions’ conference play begins Jan. 2, 2020, with a home game against San Diego to ring in the new year; a trip to BYU follows two days later. Season tickets are still available.
The Lions women’s basketball team conference schedule has also been released by the WCC, with conference play beginning on Dec. 28, 2019. The Lions will open conference play in Gersten Pavilion against BYU, and will conclude the opening weekend of conference play against San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2019. The LMU volleyball team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2019 West Coast Conference Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll, while three Lions were named to the 2019 All-WCC Preseason Volleyball Team, announced Monday by the WCC. LMU opened the preseason with an exhibition against Long Beach State on Saturday at home, earning a 4-0 victory. The team will be back in action this Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, to face former Lions in the annual Alumni Match. Season tickets for all nine WCC matches are available now.
The LMU women’s soccer team faced fourth-ranked UCLA on Friday night in their lone exhibition prior to the regular season. LMU lost the match, but scored on a Jackie Fiacco converted penalty kick in the 83rd minute. The Lions are on the road to open the regular season, with games at Pitt and at Duquesne this Friday and Sunday. Single game and season tickets are available for when LMU makes their home debuts on Aug. 29, 2019.
The men’s soccer team will be play at Sullivan Field this week as LMU hosts UC Santa Barbara in an opening exhibition match. Tickets are now available for both Saturday night’s 7 p.m. game and the full season.
Head coach Scott Guerrero, entering his 22nd season at the helm of the Loyola Marymount men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams, has added 15 new members to its signing class for the 2019-20 season.
The Lions men’s tennis team has added Bryan Otico to the 2019-20 roster, announced by head coach Tom Lloyd. Otico comes to Los Angeles from the Philippines, where he is currently the second-ranked men’s player and has been a member of the Philippine Davis Cup Team since 2018.
